Chelsea left back Ashley Cole is a hot topic of conversation here in the Football Transfer Tavern and we cannot wait to hear what the Daily Mail has to say about the player.
It seems that Cashley, as he is known by Arsenal fans, feels that everyone is against him this season when it comes to his bid for first team football.
The defender has now seen his Chelsea spot taken by young Cesar Azpilicueta and has only been recalled to the team in recent weeks due to the injuries and suspensions suffered by the Blues.
Now Cole has spoken about his future with Chelsea thought to be preparing a new contract for him this summer and the question remaining over his future with the national team.
Cole claimed that he is not done yet, and that spot on the plane to Brazil is up for grabs.
After returning to the Chelsea side, he defiantly claimed: “I think everyone wanted me to fail, to be honest.
“I think real football fans understand what I bring to a team and what I give to a team and if I do make it on the plane hopefully people can see that.
“But ultimately most people wanted me to fail in Madrid last week, for sure.”
Of course, our punters note that much like John Terry, Cole may be a questionable human being, but his ability as a player has never been in doubt.
Most of us would offer him a one-year deal at Chelsea and take him to Brazil. After all, as the player himself claimed in his Nike advert, he is not done yet.
Would you keep Cole at Chelsea or is it time for him to go? Let us know your thoughts below.
