Chelsea fans sat in the Football Transfer Tavern are rightly looking very pleased with things as the Blues moved seven points clear at the top of the Premier League with a second half masterclass against Tottenham yesterday.
However despite their overall good mood they have been left slightly worried with the latest transfer speculation coming from The Telegraph this evening.
The paper suggests that Paris Saint-Germain have targeted Chelsea midfielder Oscar as their prime summer signing and are willing to pay £41.5 million to secure his services.
Oscar, who has three year left on his contract in SW6, has been in magnificent form for Jose Mourinho’s side this season, forming an effective triumvirate with Willian and the irrepressible Eden Hazard.
Therefore it would be hard to see the Blues even thinking about selling the 22-year-old playmaker, who joined from the Brazilian club Internacional in July 2012 for £25 million, at this stage of his career.
However the Ligue 1 champions believe that an offer over £40m could be enough to tempt the Stamford Bridge club into early negotiations for the little Brazilian. Here in the tavern we must admit we’re not convinced.
Would Chelsea really consider an offer from PSG for Oscar? Let us know your thoughts below.
