Chelsea fans are keen to hear what the Daily Mirror has to say here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
The publication claim that Barcelona are targeting one of the Blues’ most underrated players – Ramires.
The Brazilian has been an ever present this season, but will miss the final four games after being handed a retrospective ban by the FA for his swipe at Sunderland’s Sebastian Larsson last weekend.
It is this behaviour that makes us think Jose Mourinho may consider cashing in on the 27-year-old, especially if Barcelona offer £20 million and indeed one of their highly-rated young stars as bait.
Our regulars are playing a game of pool but pause for just long enough to make the point that Barcelona are also targeting David Luiz, and think that Mourinho would not sell both players – and it will be Luiz who loses out and is actually sold this summer.
Chelsea are desperate to raise funds in order to bring in two top class forwards during the summer transfer window, but we would proceed with caution regarding selling a player who has the quality and experience of Ramires.
Would you sell the Brazilian to raise cash if you were Jose Mourinho or is he too vital to let go? Let us know your thoughts below.
