Chelsea fans are looking up with interest at the claim from the Daily Star today who feel that Monaco target John Terry will hold summit talks with new manager Jose Mourinho next week.
The captain’s future has been under speculation for months and even though Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard have both penned new deals at the club, JT has not thus far and is still concerned that he does not have a place at the club. Add this to the injuries the long serving player has suffered in recent seasons and we can understand his panic.
Now it seems that Mourinho wants to meet with the player to talk about the future of the club and indeed Terry himself and despite JT being reportedly instrumental in Mourinho’s departure, the two have made up and are on good terms again meaning Terry could well be handed a new deal.
Elsewhere, fellow defender Branislav Ivanovic has claimed he cannot wait to work under the Special One and noted: “I’m so happy because it is a pleasure to work with one of the best and most successful managers in the world.
“I know it’s going to be hard, it’s going to be very tough. But I’m happy and look forward to that.
“Everyone who loves the club is so excited and a lot of fans will be so happy to see him back at Stamford Bridge.”
