But according to the Daily Express, Jose Mourinho is planning yet another raid on La Liga champions Atletico Madrid.
The former Real Madrid boss had insisted that his transfer business for the summer was done but having since re-signed Didier Drogba, recent reports have linked the Portuguese manager with a move for Miranda to boot.
Brazilian international Miranda has a £24 million release clause in his contract but it is thought that Chelsea have opened the bidding at £20 million.
Manchester United have also been rumoured to be interested in the Brazilian enforcer as new Red Devils gaffer Louis van Gaal looks to develop a title challenging side.
But Chelsea now appear to be the sole suitors of Miranda with the player sharing an agent with Mourinho.
Mourinho has already raided Atletico to the tune of £50 million with the captures of Diego Costa and Filipe Luis, not to mention the loan return of Thibaut Courtois, however they missed out on a deal to re-sign former Blues midfielder Tiago.
But despite the rumours, the Blues boss has publicly denied suggestions he is looking to make any more signings this summer.
“I have to say my club did a fantastic job, and not just because of what we bought, but because we did it in almost record time,” Mourinho said.
“The transfer market closes 31 August and we close our market on July 19.”
