Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern stormed out in anger this afternoon, after it emerged that Chelsea had hijacked an exciting deal.
The Daily Mail states Chelsea’s late swoop for 16-year-old Ajax prodigy Juan Familia Castillo has been successful, with the Blues snatching the wonder-kid from under the noses of rivals Manchester United.
United believed they had all but sealed a deal with Castillo after positive talks with the player in November and December, only to miss out right at the death as Chelsea stormed to the front of the queue- signing the midfielder who turned 16 last week.
Chelsea’s interim Dutch boss Guus Hiddink is said to have played a direct role in landing Castillo’s signature, which puts egg on the face of Manchester United- who will be gutted to miss out on a a player who has the potential to be a world-beater.
Our landlord believes the two Premier League outfits do need to be careful though, with FIFA clamping down on the regulations that regard the signing of minors- with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid recently hit with hefty bans.
Chelsea fans, is this an important signing? What else do you need to secure? Let us know in the comments below!
