Terrible news for the Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…
Chelsea have been going well in the Premier League over the last few weeks, but this weekend they face what could be their toughest test yet.
On Saturday evening, Tottenham Hotspur come to the Bridge – in what is surely set to be a hotly-contested London derby.
However, whilst Chelsea were no doubt looking forward to the game – they have suffered a crushing blow just days before the pair meet.
In games that are feisty and important, leadership is the most important thing on the pitch – and it seems that Chelsea will be without their charismatic leader when Tottenham come to town.
As per the Sun, Antonio Conte has confirmed that John Terry has suffered an injury in training that will leave him out of action for around a month – in news that will no doubt disappoint the Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern.
Whilst Terry has not played as much as he is used to this season, the Chelsea fans in the Tavern were expecting him to take his place in the defence this weekend – with his excellent leadership a necessity in feisty London derbies.
However, it would appear that Conte will have to make do without his captain – and our landlord thinks that that fact will only make this game more difficult for the Italian boss. He thinks that the trio of Azpilicueta, Cahill and Luiz will likely no retain their place – with the fit-again Kurt Zouma likely to make the bench.
