Chelsea suffer major setback in pursuit of world-renowned manager – Report

Chelsea fans here in the Tavern are feeling confident that their side can secure the Premier League title next season, as they’ll be looking to bring in a number of big-name players this summer. 

Indeed, the Blues will be delighted that they managed to secure silverware in the form of the FA Cup yesterday, as Antonio Conte managed to finish the campaign on a high note. Although, it looks as if Chelsea have suffered a setback in their pursuit of a reported managerial target, as according to the Telegraph, Mauricio Pochettino has held positive talks with the Tottenham hierarchy over his future at the club.

Chelsea have been linked with Mauricio Pochettino recently, as Antonio Conte’s future remains uncertain.

Of course, there had been doubts over whether the 46-year-old would remain with the Lilywhites after admitting that he would be speaking to owner Daniel Levy about the direction the club are heading in.

Although, talks are said to have progressed well, however, more are planned, with the London club seemingly confident the Argentine will sign a new deal worth an estimated £8.5 million per year.

Mauricio Pochettino has established himself as one of the most well known managers in the whole of world football in recent years, as his Spurs side continue to achieve the unthinkable. Although, the Blues will now have to accept defeat in their pursuit of the Argentine, as it looks as if he will sign a new deal.
