Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have endured a turbulent season but they’ve breathed a sigh of relief this afternoon, after it was revealed a star player has not yet agreed a lucrative exit deal.
The Daily Mirror reports that Chelsea ace Eden Hazard has denied speculation that he’s already agreed a deal to join Real Madrid this summer, with reports circulating to suggest the Belgian international has sealed his deal.
Hazard won PFA Player of the Year last season as Chelsea stormed to the Premier League title but this term, with the Blues languishing in mid-table, Hazard has failed to register a single goal or assist in the league.
Despite that poor form, his signature is still highly sought after and Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is a big fan of the winger. Whilst a deal could materialise over the summer, Hazard moved quickly to deny speculation a deal has already been agreed.
“Have I signed for Real? No, that’s not true, I do not know who said that. For now, I am at Chelsea. I have a season to finish, and my contract ends in four years. For now, I’m here, and I am, and I want to get back on the field with Chelsea.”
Despite the comments, many in the bar feel Hazard will definitely leave this summer and our landlord shares that belief.
