Chelsea announced the summer arrival of Antonio Conte as the club’s new manager yesterday, much to the delight of their supporters present here in the Transfer Tavern.
The group of supporters have experienced a difficult season and they are hopeful that the Italian can stamp his authority on the squad from the outset.
Our landlord has spotted an article today in The Metro via Tutto Mercato Web, who are claiming that Conte has already lined up the £31 million signing of Roma player Miralem Pjanic.
The 26-year-old has reportedly already flown out to London and is hopeful of negotiating terms with Conte whilst he is present in the capital.
The Bosnian international has netted 29 goals in 179 appearances for the Serie A giants but he is thought to be keen to play under Conte next season.
One Chelsea fan here in the Tavern is tucking into his burger and a pint meal deal, when he claims that Pjanic would be a good signing for the club, stating that he is exactly the sort of player Conte should be looking to sign.
Chelsea fans, would you welcome the 26-year-old to Stamford Bridge? Will he be a big player for you next season?
