Chelsea target happy to move to Stamford Bridge on one condition

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t convinced by this deal…

Over the last few days, reports have linked Chelsea with their first major foray into the transfer market this month – with the Blues reportedly looking to bring in Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente.

Whilst not a popular move amongst the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern, the deal appears to edge closer with every passing day, and now, for the first time, it would appear as though it is clear that Fernando Llorente wants to make the move to London.

According to the Telegraph, Llorente would certainly be interested in the Chelsea move and linking up once again with Antonio Conte.

It isn’t quite that simple though, as the Telegraph reports, with the publication noting that whilst Llorente is keen, he will only make the move is Conte ensures that he will be second in line in the Chelsea attack. Clearly, Llorente wants to make sure that he will get regular game time at Stamford Bridge – and it seems likely that Conte will be able to offer him a secondary role at Stamford Bridge, which will allow him regular game time.

The move by Llorente certainly makes sense. He isn’t a young player, currently aged 31, and he wants to make sure that he isn’t wasting the twilight of his career on the bench every week. His desire to be guaranteed a role could make Batshuayi’s move more likely, with Sky Sports linking him with a move to Swansea in his place.

Llorente has done well this year, picking up 6 goals in an otherwise disappointing Swansea City side.
