Chelsea target set for Stamford Bridge medical ahead of £34million move

It’s set to get a little busier down at Stamford Bridge over the coming weeks and months as Chelsea boss Antonio Conte looks to add to his squad ahead of their upcoming Premier League title defence.

The Blues fans lining the bar here in the pub were gutted to have lost out on the signing of Romelu Lukaku earlier this weekend and the pressure is building on the Italian to start getting involved in the transfer market to improve his team.

And one man that is edging closer to a move to the Bridge is Roma defender Antonio Rudiger, who is today completing a medical in London, according to Sky Sports News.

Agents flew in to discuss the deal yesterday and the move is now edging even closer to completion with just a medical and personal terms left to conclude.

The transfer represents a bit of a coup for Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, who looks to start his summer of spending with a strong centre-back replacement for John Terry, who left to join Aston Villa earlier this summer.

The Blues will be looking to defend their title during the upcoming campaign and could have Rudiger available for selection for their first pre-season games.
