Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern feel like they’re onto a winner, after the afternoon was improved with reports of a staggering signing being targeted by the Blues.
GianlucaDiMarzio have suggested that Antonio Conte could reunite with a former Juventus player of his at Stamford Bridge, should he get the job in West London, with the player being none other than Arturo Vidal.
The Chilean midfielder moved to Bayern Munich from Juventus after a double-winning campaign in Italy and the success has since continued, with Vidal winning the Copa America last summer and his side looking on course to retain their Bundesliga crown.
Chelsea’s interest is understandable and despite Bayern’s likely stance of not wanting to part ways with the Chilean, the exit of Pep Guardiola this summer and the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as a result could see the Bavarian giants shake things up significantly.
The 28-year-old was scouted by Chelsea during Bayern’s 2-2 draw with Juventus on Tuesday evening, with the Blues’ technical director Michael Emenalo being spotted amongst the crowd.
Our landlord would love to see Vidal in the Premier League but he’s urged supporters not to get ahead of themselves, as he unfortunately can’t see this deal coming to fruition.
