The 27-year-old was a breath of fresh air down the wing for the African side against Argentina yesterday and according to Metro, his performances have attracted the interest of Chelsea.
He currently plays for Turkish outfit Fenerbahce having moved from Spartak Moscow last summer in a £10 million deal.
It proved an excellent move for both Emenike and Fenerbahce with the striker netting 12 goals and nine assists in his first season.
He’s become an interesting proposition for numerous clubs but it is Chelsea that are set to test the Turkish club’s resolve with a bid of £16 million.
Emenike admitted recently he is keen on a Premier League move in the future, and a transfer could now be concluded quickly.
“I have always dreamed of playing in England,” he said.
“If I get the opportunity to play in England – I wouldn’t turn it down.”
