Chelsea to launch £32m defender move, personal terms agreed

BonucciChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping the news they’ve just heard is the finale to a drawn-out transfer saga, which could represent their biggest signing of the summer.

Metro state Chelsea are ready to offer Italian giants Juventus £32m for the services of Leonardo Bonucci, with the player said to have already agreed personal terms ahead of a move to west London.

New Blues boss Antonio Conte has had Bonucci top of his wish-list ever since he was confirmed as the next manager at Stamford Bridge and he holds a strong relationship with his compatriot, having already worked with the 29-year-old at Juventus and with the Italian national team.

The reports of a bid come a day after The Sun stated Bonucci has already agreed personal terms to the tune of £130k-a-week, with Conte wanting Bonucci as part of a three-man defence alongside Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma.

Our landlord believes this is a huge signing for the Blues but is not confident a three-man back-line will work in the Premier League, whilst he’s also wondering what it means for the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta.
