The Transfer Tavern had a visit from some Chinese exchange students this past weekend, and they were busy sampling the landlord’s best real ales as they wound down after a busy week at the local university.
They were chattering with a group of ardent football supporters in the Tavern about how the football over in China is really set to boom, after a series of high-profile signings made their way over to the far east.
One Chelsea fan is sat chatting with the wife in the Tavern and appears disgruntled at an article he has just spotted in The Sun.
The article in questions claims that Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi has turned down a move to Stamford Bridge and is expected to sign for Shanghai Shenhua later this week, with the transfer window not closed over there until February 26th.
It is hardly surprising that the Argentinean forward has turned down the Blues, with the current champions facing a struggle to make the Champions League through the league position this season.
Chelsea fans… What do you make to Lavezzi’s decision? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
