Chelsea to offload stars to fund swoop for 24-goal striker

Higuain.jpgChelsea fans by the Transfer Tavern smoking area are discussing whether this reported move would be a good deal for their club, with an unanimous decision far from being reached as the debate rages on.

Spanish outlet Fichajes says Chelsea are looking to cash-in on star players, including Diego Costa, to fund a move for Napoli’s prolific striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Higuain has been in deadly form this season for the Naples outfit, who are pushing for the Serie A title, with a total of 24 goals; more than any other player in all of Europe’s top five leagues.

Reports state the Argentine forward is Chelsea’s top-target for the summer transfer window, where the Blues will be eying wholesale changes to overhaul a squad that has been extremely disappointing so far this season, particularly in the Premier League.

However, our landlord isn’t sure that ousting Diego Costa would be the best move as the forward has found his form once again since Guus Hiddink took charge in December. Many of our punters agree, though a fair few wouldn’t mind letting him leave due to his controversial behaviour.

Chelsea fans, would you swap Costa for Higuain? Let us know in the comments!
