The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are used to seeing Jose Mourinho splash the cash to sign some of the world’s best ready-made talents.
However according to the Daily Star, the Portuguese manager is keeping tabs on a player that could be made available for a bargain price.
Reports suggest that the Blues are keeping tabs on highly-rated Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish who is yet to sign a new contract at Villa Park.
The 18-year-old Republic of Ireland Under-21 winger has graduated through the West Midland’s club’s academy and has caught the eye of Mourinho on many occasions.
And now could be the time for the Special One to pounce as the Villa youngster is out of contract in the summer, leaving him free to discuss terms with another club in a few months’ time.
Paul Lambert’s side have reportedly spoken to the midfielder about signing a long-term deal worth £5,000-a-week but they will certainly have to raise that offer with Chelsea now lurking in the background.
