Carlo Ancelotti is looking to thwart Birmingham City’s pursuit of Argentine starlet, Pablo Mouche.
Skysports.com recently broke the news that Alex McLeish was interested in the attacking midfielder, who has been in fine form of late for current club, Boca Juniors.
Discussing Mouche’s future, the player’s agent declared “there are a number of Premier League clubs who have expressed an interest in him“.
It was believed that Mouche would move to Birmingham in January, with both player and agent “optimistic something could be done”. However, Chelsea have sine emerged as rivals for the 23-year-old’s signature, although they will not complete any deal until the end of the season.
Following recent clear-the-air talks with owner Roman Abramovich, Ancelotti has been given all but a free hand to pursue any players he feels are necessary to bring the Premiership title back to Stamford Bridge, allowing him to beat any transfer or contract offer Birmingham could come up with.
Unfortunately for McLeish, it looks as if he will have to concede defeat; Pablo Mouche looks set to become part of the future at Chelsea.
