Chelsea to wave goodbye to 36-year-old defender at the end of the season

Chelsea have this evening announced that stalwart John Terry will leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season after almost two decades with the London-based club, BBC Sport has confirmed.

The Blues’ loyal supporters have arrived in the Transfer Tavern this evening to celebrate their most decorated individual, with Terry having won four Premier League titles, one Champions League, five FA Cups, a Europa League and three league cups during this time with the club.

It will be a sad day when Terry does finally bring the curtain down on his time at Stamford Bridge and several of the Chelsea fans in the Tavern have already started preparing tributes to their legendary defender.

Terry made his debut as a 17-year-old back in 1998 and but for six games on loan at Nottingham Forest has spent his entire career at Stamford Bridge.

One Chelsea fan is enjoying an Easter Monday slurp with his dad here in the Tavern and he is somewhat saddened by this news, stating that he hopes the club can find a role for Terry on the coaching staff in the future.

Chelsea fans, what is your standout memory of John Terry playing for the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
