Chelsea told to pay whopping £34 million for highly-rated Premier League ace

StonesChelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are scratching their heads after seeing the news from the Express, with the publication claiming that the Blues will have to stump up a whopping £34 million to land Everton defender John Stones.

Now, it is no secret here in the Transfer Tavern that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is a big admirer of the up an coming central defender, and after having two bids already rejected for him, it seems it is going to take a lot more to lure the former Barnsley centre-back to Stamford Bridge.

Our landlord here in the Transfer Tavern has hid his say on the matter: “John Stones has incredible potential, he has already showcased his ability in the top-flight for Everton last season and there is no reason why he can’t get better and better, also at the age of 21, he has a very long playing career ahead of him!”

A large number of Chelsea fans over by the billiards table feel that Stones is the natural successor to John Terry, with them all agreeing that he has the potential to become a Chelsea great – however the mooted £34 million fee is way too extortionate!

Blues fans….. What do you make of this news? Is £34m way too much? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
