The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have very high hopes for Tammy Abraham, and many think that a Premier League move might be on the cards for him this season…
That could work out in Chelsea’s favour in more ways than one, too, with the Daily Mail reporting that Everton could use Chelsea’s interest in Romelu Lukaku to secure a deal for young Abraham this summer. According to the Daily Mail, the Toffees are keen on Abraham – both on a short-term and long-term basis – and they could look to include a deal for the Englishman this summer in any deal for Lukaku.
For a change, this is a deal that most of the fans in the pub can get behind. Whilst nobody wants to see Abraham depart permanently, Goodison Park has become a hub of young, impressive talent in recent years – with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Ross Barkley and John Stones all making a name for themselves at the club. If a short-term deal can be agreed, perhaps it would be great business for the clubs.
Abraham has, of course, been in fine form this year – scoring 23 goals in the Championship. Romelu Lukaku, meanwhile, has bagged 24 goals in the Premier League.
Our landlord thinks that this deal could be perfect for both parties. Chelsea may be able to secure a better deal for their striking target, whilst Abraham will also get regular first-team football in the Premier League, also meaning that Everton won’t need to worry about replacing Lukaku.
