Three Chelsea players are still in the dark over their future according to the Daily Mail and we in the Football Transfer Tavern are keen to hear more.
According to the Mail, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has admitted that the futures of Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and John Terry are rather up in the air with no one quite knowing what is set to happen.
Mourinho claimed: ‘The club knows my opinion.
“Again, they are talking to the club on their future. I think so. I think so. But now it’s time to wait a little bit.
“The summer is a long summer for us. For the players at the World Cup it’s a different story. But for us, as a club, it’s a long time to be calm, to sit and discuss and analyse our options, the market and possibilities. A long time.”
Mourinho also lavished praise on Frank Lampard, claiming that the midfielder is one of the very best Chelsea have ever seen – and that he expects a statue to be put up outside Stamford Bridge.
With Cole’s future looking increasingly unlikely we think at least one of the three will be leaving.
Do you think that any of the trio will be handed a new deal at the Blues? Let us know your thoughts below.
