Chelsea make approach to secure deal for World Cup winner, could replace John Terry in the summer

Hummels.jpgThe Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been a fairly distraught bunch throughout the 2015/16 campaign, having watched their side relinquish their hold on the Premier League title with nothing more than a whimper.

The Blues will have all on qualifying for the Europa League and are destined to finish the miserable campaign without a trophy, meaning that the incoming Antonio Conte will have some work on his hands – should he choose to take on the managerial job.

A group of die-hard Chelsea fans have spotted some intriguing news in the Metro via Sport Bild, who are claiming that Chelsea have made an approach to sign German international Mats Hummels.

The central defender has been identified as a ready-made replacement for the departing John Terry, but it remains to be seen whether or not Borussia Dortmund will be willing to do business for one of their prized assets.

One Blues supporter is getting the shots in at the bar and he thinks that the 27-year-old would be a world class signing for Chelsea, stating that the defender would turn the Blues into a solid defensive force once more.

Chelsea fans, what do you reckon to this news? Is Hummels the defender you want to replace Terry? Let us know below!
