West Ham United fans here in the Tavern are pleased with new manager David Moyes, but fear the departure of some of their key players this window.
David Moyes’ side have been inspired in recent times after playing some of the best football seen at the London Stadium thus far, as relegation trouble looks to be a thing of the past for the Hammers. However, one of their star men may be about to head for the exit, as according to a report from ESPN, defending champions Chelsea are considering a move for winger Marko Arnautovic.
With Chelsea looking to bring in a target man before the window closes, they’ve turned their attention to the Austrian after previous target Andy Carroll had sustained an injury.
So, with Chelsea looking to raid David Moyes of all his glory, Arnautovic’s six goals and three assists so far this season look to be enough to warrant interest from Antonio Conte’s side.
Therefore, with the £25 million man looking like being the latest target on their hit-list, the Hammers will be hoping they can keep hold of the 26-year-old after his stunning form of late. And, after seeing how ineffective Javier Hernandez has been in the claret and blue shirt this season, losing Arnautovic to Chelsea could spell huge trouble on the striking front for the Hammers should they fail to find a replacement.
Would be a quality signing for Chelsea, as a player that’s proven his goalscoring worth and creativity this season.
However, West Ham United must do everything they can to keep the forward, as one of their main goalscoring outlets and star men in a season that’s struggled for attacking brilliance.
