Chelsea fans think the excitement is never going to stop here at the Football Transfer Tavern and given the claims from the Daily Star we would agree.
Now it seems that Jose Mourinho has added Schalke’s Julian Draxler to his wishlist and is hoping that Roman Abramovich is willing to bankroll a massive £38 million bid for the 19-year-old. The Special One sees the young talent as the ideal player for his midfield and is prepared to go all out to land him despite the fact Draxler only signed a new deal at the Veltins Arena recently which would tie him to the Gelsenkirchen-based club until 2018.
As with every deal involving Chelsea and a German club, the seemingly obvious Blues makeweight Kevin de Bruyne is also being mooted as part of this deal either for a loan spell or on a permanent basis but given Mourinho is determined to land Draxler, one of our punters quips that he wouldn’t be shocked to see Abramovich break the bank on cash alone and we have to agree with him.
Despite his new deal with the German side, Draxler’s contract included the £38 million release clause – something Mourinho has no problem reaching in order to lure the player to Stamford Bridge.
Will Chelsea really splash as much as £38m on Draxler or is this trash talk? Rate this rumour below.
