The Daily Mail have Chelsea fans moving away from the pool table and over to the bar to hear what our landlord has to say here in the Football Transfer Tavern and it seems one of their forwards could be set for the exit door.
The player in question is Andre Schurrle who has been heavily linked with a move to the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund thought to be keen on landing him.
However it now seems that Wolfsburg are desperate to secure a deal for the World Cup winner with a £23 million bid set to be submitted.
Given Jose Mourinho claimed that no players would be leaving Stamford Bridge this winter, Wolfsburg would certainly have to put one hell of a package together to convince the Blues to part with Schurrle.
Some of our more savvy punters suggest the Blues could well be trying to hold out for Dortmund to agree to a player plus cash deal to land Schurrle’s German international team-mate Marco Reus who has been heavily linked with Chelsea this month.
We think that Schurrle would ideally like to try and give it one more shot at Stamford Bridge and with the Blues still in the hunt to complete an unprecedented quadruple this term, that may well become easier to do as rotation becomes key.
Chelsea fans. Would you hand Schurrle one final chance to impress in the second half of the season or should he be disposed of this month? Let us know your thoughts below.
