Chelsea will be hoping to get this season out of the way and concentrate on another rebuilding job come the summer, with the Blues set to miss out on the Champions League following last week’s humbling by Spurs.
The Blues and manager Antonio Conte have looked like a team playing under pressure this season, and their summer signings from last year have not quite panned out, despite Alvaro Morata getting off to a decent start in his first season in England.
However, our landlord and the Blues punters here at the Tavern are in agreement that the club need to bring fresh faces in, and they think looking to La Liga could yield some big success.
One area which might well be looked at is at left back, and despite Marcos Alonso being one of the standout performers over the course of the last two seasons at the Bridge, there is an element of doubt hanging over his future, and we think Real Madrid full back Theo Hernandez would be a superb addition.
The exciting French talent has flourished this season when given the chance by manager Zinedine Zidane, but with Marcelo not going anywhere fast and still delivering excellent showings, Hernandez could find himself out in the cold.
At just 20-years-old, Hernandez could well have a fine career in front of him, and with Chelsea desperate to prove they are willing play and harness young talent, Hernandez would be the perfect sort of signing.
Chelsea fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
