Chelsea would consider midfielder move on one condition – report

Chelsea have been on fire this season, and the Blues in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful that Antonio Conte could be the man to finally secure the dynasty that they have been dreaming of…

Too often in the past have managers been moved on after one poor season, but you get the feeling that that is changing with Conte in charge. The Italian is utilising young players and getting the best out of everyone in his squad – and he deserves a lot of credit for that.

However, it appears as though Conte is still not content with the fine squad at his disposal – with Don Balon reporting that Chelsea remain keen on Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio.

Significantly, though, Don Balon also note that Chelsea would only be interested in him on the condition that the move was a permanent one, which is seemingly not want Real Madrid are after.

Whether that would take Chelsea out of the running remains to be seen, but it is clear that the Blues would be getting from the Spaniard. Impressive going forward, Asensio is most effective in an attacking midfield role – and he offers dynamic dribbling alongside impressive through balls and passes that often create attacks out of nothing.

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are certainly behind the deal, but like their club, a permanent move would be preferred. The Blues have an impressive record of bringing in impressive young talent – and Asensio could be a useful asset.
