Championship side Swansea City are keen on signing Chelsea midfielder Kasey Palmer, according to Sky Sports’ live transfer blog.
Palmer is back with the Blues following loan spells with both Blackburn Rovers and Bristol City last season, but could find first-team opportunities hard to come by given the attacking options Frank Lampard has available.
Willian, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic, to name a few, are all players the new Chelsea boss will be able to call upon this upcoming season, with the latter being someone Lampard has spoken highly of recently.
“It’s a big move for him [Pulisic] to a huge club. He’s a top young player. He’s only going to go one way in terms of his career – he’s going to go up and be a big signing for Chelsea. I hope so. I look forward to working with him,” Lampard was quoted as saying by Goal.
As a result, a loan move to Swansea City could be in Palmer’s best interest as he looks for regular game time and to impress the powers that be at Chelsea.
So far, Palmer has spent the majority of his young career away from Stamford Bridge, with spells at Derby County and Huddersfield Town delivering differing levels of success for the youngster.
Capable of playing centrally or out wide, as shown on WhoScored, Palmer will hope his next move can catapult him to the next level as he looks to get his career firmly on track.
Chelsea fans, what do you think? Is Palmer moving to Swansea the right move for all involved? Let us know!
