With the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern still celebrating their title win, many of the Blues in the bar are getting excited about the upcoming summer.
Under the stewardship of Antonio Conte, the Stamford Bridge titans look like restoring themselves to former glories and, while it’s job done this season, competing in the Champions League will be an added burden next term.
So, reports from the Sun suggesting those from west London are keen on making a big name signing to help whip their squad into shape have gone down a storm. According to their report, Chelsea are interested in Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Veratti and have reportedly tabled a £55m bid.
Conte worked with the 24-year-old during his time as Italy boss and is understood to want to bring him across The Channel in order to introduce greater tactical flexibility next season.
Still, they also suggest Verratti may SNUB the offer of a move and an improvement on his £120k-p/w deal in order to remain in the French capital.
Dreaming of a potential Verratti-Kante engine room, the Chelsea fans in the Tavern hope he changes his mind.
