26-goal striker could hold key to Chelsea’s big summer plans

There’s not much that can dampen the spirits of our local Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern right now, with their beloved Blues still on course to win a league and cup double this season.

Still, such is the insatiable nature of transfer rumours, many of those propping up the bar are ALREADY looking for reports in regards to the club’s transfer plans this summer.

So, imagine just how much they’re talking about recent reports from the Sun. They claim the Stamford Bridge giants could use impressive forward Tammy Abraham as potential bait in order to land Everton star Romelu Lukaku.

The latter has been strongly linked with a return to west London following a wonderfully prolific campaign for the Toffees. While the Evertonians in the bar would be loathed to lose the 23-year-old, the notion of getting Abraham in return could be an exciting one.

Currently on loan with Bristol City, the 19-year-old has enjoyed a lethal season (26 goals across all competitions) in the West Country and is thought to be valued at around £15m. Steve Walsh is said to have already scouted the England U21 international, with Everton reportedly believing they could offer him a similar route to Lukaku’s.

Though our local Chelsea supporters wouldn’t want to lose him, they want Lukaku at all costs.
