The Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been looking forward to the summer window for a while now. Indeed, it seems like their title defence ended within the first couple of weeks in August and questions over Antonio Conte’s future have risen up fairly frequently throughout the course of the campaign.
With that in mind, the Blues in our bar are hoping those behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge splash the cash this summer in order to compete with the likes of the Manchester clubs, Liverpool and Tottenham. Perhaps Roman Abramovich is unlikely to spend quite as much as say, United or City, but it’s not as if the Blues are too far off having a great squad.
Having said that, we recently asked our readers as to whether the west London giants should make a move for West Ham United star, Arthur Masuaku. While it’s been a difficult campaign for the Irons, the former Olympiacos man has impressed in his role at left-wing back, even being touted with a move to either Chelsea themselves or London rivals, Tottenham.
