The Chelsea fans are disheartened in the Transfer Tavern given that their poor season saw the Blues give away their Premier League title.
It has to be said that this summer will be a very important time for Chelsea to improve as a side given that their rivals new continuing to go from strength to strength. The Blues certainly are no strangers to spending money but this upcoming transfer window could be one of the biggest in years.
As part of their spending, our punters think Chelsea should acquire Bayer Leverkusen’s right-back Benjamin Henrichs, who is valued at £10.80 million on Transfermarkt. The 21-year-old already looks to be a top talent in the Bundesliga and after featuring in 27 games thus far, he has shown why he is so highly rated.
His main traits would have to be his dribbling ability and determination to get up and down the pitch to help his team. Constantly, you will see Henrichs running to create chances up one end for his team, then recovering to put in a last-ditch tackle and cleaning up the mess.
The German has already made his international debut, proving that not only is he a top club player, but he could still yet be a big part to the international set-up.
The transfer of Davide Zappacosta really hasn’t worked out for Chelsea and this is a position that desperately needs addressing this summer. The Italian has proven to be a liability and Henrichs would easily surpass his poor form in a Chelsea shirt. With lots of interest sure to surround the 21-year-old, Chelsea will have to act fast but it will certainly be worth it because he has the potential to be their right-back for years to come.
