A brace against Crystal Palace on Sunday was well and truly a statement by Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata that he is back and firing for the Blues. Maurizio Sarri’s men stormed to a 3-1 victory at Stamford to stretch their unbeaten run to 11 games in the Premier League this season.
Morata opened the scoring in the 32nd minute before the Eagles equalised shortly after half-time but the Spaniard put Chelsea ahead again in the 65th minute, meaning he has now scored four goals in his last four league matches. The 26-year-old copped a lot of stick from the Chelsea fans after a poor start to the season that saw him miss frequent chances in front of goal.
But since scoring against Vidi FC in the Europa League at the beginning of October, the former Real Madrid man seems to have gotten his confidence back and looks much more composed, much to the delight of Chelsea fans.
Here are some of their Twitter reactions:
Best striker in the EPL. MORATA

Well played Alvaro! 5 goals in your last 6 games. Man of the Match performance today.
The Golden Boot will be yours in May.

People forget how good he was up to the winner against Utd. Got an injury plus loss of confidence and never recovered. Hopefully he is back to his early form.

Alvaro Morata, three goals in his last four Premier League games. Really composed on that one. Brilliant stuff from him.

Special credit to Alvaro Morata. The man had one good chance in the first half and he took it. His second goal was an emphatic finish, clear signs of a striker getting back his confidence. We go second in the table above Liverpool and we are unbeaten in 16 games in all comps #CFC
