Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been waiting on tenterhooks to see how their new boss, Antonio Conte, will use his knowledge of Serie A in the transfer market, and now they may see the first fruits of that knowledge.
According to reports from Tuttosport (via talkSport), Antonio Conte has marked out Bologna midfielder, Amadou Diawara, as target this summer.
Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer the Italian side £18m for the Guinean who signed from San Marino Calcio just last summer.
The 18-year-old made 34 appearances for Bologna last season and has also attracted interest from fellow Serie A side, Roma, however they are not willing to offer the same money as the Blues.
TalkSport claim that the new man in charge at Stamford Bridge has monitored the progress of the youngster over the last season and now wants to bring him to the Premier League as he looks to rebuild a Chelsea team in search of the form that won them the title in 2015.
Chelsea fans, what would you make of this signing? Do you trust Conte to have the right knowledge of the young prospects in Italy? Let us know below…
