Chelsea’s excellent form under Maurizio Sarri continued with a dominant 3-0 win over Southampton at the weekend.

Unsurprisingly, it was Eden Hazard who opened the scoring for the Blues, finishing Ross Barkley’s pass to bring his season total to seven. The Belgian has truly found his best form under the Italian and looked a constant threat against the Saints. It was Barkley who netted Chelsea’s second goal before Alvaro Morata sealed the points in injury time.

Despite getting on the scoresheet, Morata failed to impress once again. The Spaniard has struggled immensely since joining from Real Madrid, and Chelsea could be forced back into the transfer market for a new striker. If Sarri can recruit a world-class forward in January, the Blues would arguably favourites to lift the Premier League trophy.

One man he should be targeting is Paris St Germain hitman – Edinson Cavani. Valued at £54m by Transfermarkt, the Uruguayan star established himself as one of the best forwards in the world during his time with Napoli. His prolific seasons in the Serie A earned him a move to PSG back in 2013 with the Parisians parting with £58m to bring him to Ligue 1.

Alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, Cavani netted 40 goals in 48 appearances last season, and his hot form has continued into the new campaign with the 31-year-old notching six goals in his first eight appearances this term. Adding a player of Cavani’s calibre to their forward line would genuinely take Chelsea to the next level. The Uruguay international is one of the most intelligent forwards in the world and his link up with Hazard could be unstoppable.

If Chelsea managed to lure him to England, Blues fans would quickly forget about Morata’s disappointing showings.

Chelsea fans, thoughts?
