Chelsea fans will be hopeful that their below average season will only be a slight blip in their quest to be at the top of English football once again. For this to become reality again, the Blues must improve their squad with some summer additions.
Although the season may be considered a bad one, the Blues are still within reach of Champions League qualification ahead of next season. This will provide a way of assisting the capture of players who want to play in the best competition in club football.
One player this season who has shone in the Champions League is Sevilla’s Wissam Ben Yedder, valued at £27.00 million on Transfermarkt. Particularly, Chelsea fans will recognise the name for being the player to single-handily knock out Manchester United after coming off the bench to score two goals at Old Trafford.
His season has been terrific, scoring 19 goals in 35 games and considering he isn’t always a starter, this is a brilliant return for the Frenchman. Thus far, Ben Yedder is the Champions League second top goalscorer as he sits behind Cristiano Ronaldo.
With Alvaro Morata and Oliver Giroud both struggling in parts since their arrival to Stamford bridge, the capture of Ben Yedder could spur the due to perform better knowing that they have a very capable striker waiting in the wing to take their place in the team.
Having seen Wissam Ben Yedder and his cameo appearance against Manchester United, the small, nimble striker has the qualities to become a top player at Chelsea. Despite always been told he was too small, that seemed to have no effect against United as he rose highest to nod home.
