Though much of the build up to this season will no doubt be about managers, with both Antonio Conte and Pep Guardiola taking the reins in the Premier League for the first time, there’s little doubt blockbuster transfers still make the headlines.
Well, few get bigger than this one. And it’s bad news for both Chelsea and Manchester City.
Both Premier League titans have been linked with a move for Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez, who has fallen down the pecking order in the Spanish capital.
However, the Colombian is now believed to have been the subject of a mammoth approach from Paris Saint-Germain, with talks said to be at an advanced stage.
According to Yahoo Sport France, the 24-year old emerged as the Parisians’ top target after the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who recently joined Manchester United.
He has previous in France, having joined Los Blancos from Monaco in 2014 following a hugely successful World Cup in Brazil, regarded by many as having been the standout player of that tournament.
