Our local Chelsea are all but dancing on the pool tables this afternoon as the Transfer Tavern pints flow in their hundreds following reports from BBC Sport.
John Terry, a bastion of the Blues, WILL be offered a new deal by the club after months shrouded in uncertainty.
The 34-year old had looked set to leave Stamford Bridge for a number of months with a lucrative move to the Chinese Super League mooted as a potential landing spot.
However, manager Guus Hddink has now confirmed the legendary skipper will in fact be offered a new one-year contract at the club where he has enjoyed so much success.
He has made 703 appearances for his boyhood charges, winning almost every top honour there is to win in the game.
With Antonio Conte set to arrive in West London over the course of the summer, the club have offered Terry the chance to stay on.
‘With it coming so late in the season, this is a big decision for John and his family and it is something that they are now considering,’ said a Chelsea spokesman.
Should Terry command another year? Or should Chelsea cut ties with their legendary skipper?
