Chelsea, by some way, are the Premier League title favourites and you can certainly see why many have them as that.
After a start of the season that seemed decent if unspectacular and losses to Arsenal and Liverpool many felt that it was perhaps too soon to consider Antonio Conte’s men title challengers – but how they’ve been proved wrong.
The Blues switched to a 3-4-3 system and have since pretty much swept all before them with a now eight point gap protecting them from the rest of the pack.
The likes of Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses have been revelations, too, in that system whilst Diego Costa and Eden Hazard have been utterly unplayable at times.
It’s with the former pair – in particular Victor Moses – where improvements could actually be made, though.
Currently Moses is the right wing back with Cesar Azpilicueta at centre back in the three but surely the Spaniard would be better suited than the Nigerian – who has done well – for this role.
Azpilicueta is so good that he can play pretty much anywhere at the back and do well but surely if Chelsea want to cement their position at the top it’s finally time that he plays in his best role.
The right wing back area is perfect for his attributes and so all Chelsea need to do to make it happen is sign a centre back to come in and replace him.
John Terry is perhaps not suitable to play every game now whilst the jury is out on Kurt Zouma and so with a few days left in the market, it’s time to act.
If the Blues can sign a bonafide centre half, and get Azpilicueta out on the right, you may as well start engraving their name on the trophy and attaching the blue ribbons – it’s that simple.
