Their 2-0 win over champions Leicester City rounded off a weekend that had looked as if it was going to be somewhat of a nightmare following the news Diego Costa had fallen out with members of the backroom staff amid reported Chinese interest.
Though a bullet has so far been dodged, reports from the Sun have given our west London locals something to think about. They’ve claimed the 28-year-old is ready to call a truce with those in SW6 and see out the season while spearheading their attack.
However, he is thought to have told those close to him he has NO intention of signing a new deal at Stamford Bridge after the completion of this campaign and is reportedly convinced his future lies elsewhere.
For their part, the league leaders are thought to be braced for a formal offer from the mega-rich CSL this week, though our west London locals desperately hope he’ll stay to potentially win Chelsea the league.
