The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are starting to feel as if many of the problems talked about at the start of the season aren’t really there.
Though the Blues in our bar are eager to see some more faces brought to the Bridge between now and the end of the summer, their recovery after losing against Burnley has proved promising.
So, reports from the Daily Mail have been met with interest amongst our west London locals. They claim the Premier League champions are closing in on an agreement for Leicester City star Danny Drinkwater, though have considered other options.
The Poland international only moved to the French capital last summer from Sevilla, though has struggled to wholly convince and is reportedly one of the players who could be allowed to leave the Parc de Princes.
The Ligue 1 outfit smashed the world transfer record for Neymar recently and are expected to sign Kylian Mbappe, meaning they need to shift some of their current stars.
Interestingly enough, Leicester City are also reportedly considering a move for the 27-year-old, as a replacement for Drinkwater.
Though Drinkwater is proven in the Premier League and increases Chelsea’s home-grown quota, surely Krychowiak would be a better option.
Though his time in France may have stalled his progress, the Poland star was one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe during his time with Sevilla.
