Chelsea are eyeing up a potential move for Crystal Palace man Wilfried Zaha, according to The Telegraph.
The winger was on the club’s radar during the last summer window, however, a move never materialised after their transfer ban.
He was also linked with the likes of Arsenal and Everton, with the latter having a bid rejected for the 27-year-old (via The Mirror).
Former manager Maurizio Sarri was very complimentary of the Ivorian last season as he admitted his side struggled against him following the 3-1 win over the Eagles (via Goal).
A combination of the fee and quality Zaha brings means completing a deal for the 27-year-old would be highly irresponsible from the Blues.
This season the Ivory Coast international has struggled massively despite the fact the Eagles started the season well with four wins in their first eight games. He’s scored just a solitary goal and has notched up just two assists in his 13 Premier League games so far (via Transfermarkt).
The south London club was demanding more than £100m for the attacker in the summer, and with better options like Jadon Sancho available, a move for Zaha seems incredibly silly.
Chelsea have been eyeing a move for the Borussia Dortmund man with the German club open to selling him as early as January (via The Independent).
There is no comparison between the two players with the England international coming out on top. Sancho has scored and assisted more goals, averages more key passes and has been dispossessed less number of times than Zaha in league games.
A move for Zaha would be a terrible thing from the Blues, especially because Palace will demand a high fee. For that sort of money, you could potentially get better players like Sancho, who are proven in the Champions League, is younger and has far more quality.
