Winning at Wembley is a nice sight for any team, with the Chelsea fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern delighted to see Tottenham put to the sword over the course of the weekend.
Antonio Conte kept the dreamy notion of a league and cup double alive by beating Spurs, further endearing the Italian to the west London locals who frequent in their droves.
So, reports emanating out of Italy have scared the Blues in the bar somewhat. According to Calciomercato, the 47-year-old remains a big target of Inter Milan’s, as the Nerazzurri plot another big summer in order to restore former glories.
Stefano Poli, currently in charge, is due to depart the San Siro at the end of the campaign and the club’s owners (The Suning Group) are understood to have identified the former Italy and Juventus coach as their No.1 target.
Conte, for that matter, is thought to remain undecided on his future at Stamford Bridge, despite a wonderful campaign. He’s previously been linked with a move to the club, though the Chelsea fans here are quite frankly desperate in the hope he stays on at the club.
