Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are loving the way the season has gone so far but could be about to receive a bit of a blow thanks to reports in the print edition of Corriere dello Sport (via The Express.)
That’s because the Blues look set to be offered competition by Serie A club AC Milan in the chase to sign Croatian midfielder Milan Badelj who is currently at Fiorentina.
The 27-year-old midfielder has been in fine form for La Viola so far this season but has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent times as they look to win the Premier League title.
It seems now, though, they’ll face a strong contest from the Rossoneri to sign the player with them looking to challenge Juventus at the top of Serie A.
Typically a holding midfield player, Badelj can also play slightly further forward in that central role and has a goal and two assists to his name so far in the league.
Our landlord thinks he’s a class player and would love to see him in this country but reckons Milan could be too good to turn down.
Can you get Badelj ahead of Milan, Chelsea fans? Let us know below!
