Chelsea fans here in the Tavern are slightly disappointed with last night’s 1-1 draw with Barcelona, as mistakes continue to prove costly for the Blues.
Our local residents are hoping to see a change in fortune during the summer transfer window, with recent activity not living up to the expectations of many. And, with competitors inevitably set to bolster their squads in preparation for next season, Roman Abramovich has started his recruitment process early, as according to reports from the Mail Online, Chelsea are targeting Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic.
Indeed, Chelsea have their sights set firmly on acquiring the services of teenager Christian Pulisic, a target for the summer transfer window to be a part of a major overhaul at Stamford Bridge. Although, the asking price for the American is a daunting one, with an £88 million price-tag slapped on the 19-year-old. But, breaking the club’s current transfer record could reap huge rewards for the London club, as they would receive one of the brightest prospects in world football, and a definite future star.
However, Dortmund currently have Michy Batshuayi on loan and want to make the deal a permanent one, meaning that the Belgian may hold the key to Pulisic’s future. Although, there could be possible implications in the move, with Manchester United and Bayern Munich rivalling the Blues for the signature of the teen.
Christian Pulisic could be the key to future success at Chelsea, so managing to fend off the attraction from surrounding clubs for his services would be huge for the Blues. Especially as the influential Eden Hazard and Willian are attracting the interest of other clubs, meaning that the American could turn out to be a replacement for possible departures. Although, Roman Abramovich should look to make the attacker a Chelsea player at all costs, with the potential to rival some of the world’s best in the future.
