Chelsea: Fans call for Olivier Giroud to receive more game time

Olivier Giroud has become somewhat of a cult hero at Chelsea since arriving from Arsenal in 2018.
The French striker has scored 19 goals and provided 13 assists for the Blues and was instrumental in their Europa League triumph last term, notching 11 goals and five assists for the west Londoners as they won the competition, beating his former club Arsenal convincingly in May’s final.
This season, however, the 33-year-old has been limited to just one Premier League start for Chelsea due to the scintillating form of Tammy Abraham – who has scored eight goals in eight league appearances so far.
While it is totally understandable why Abraham has retained his starting berth spearheading Frank Lampard’s forward line after his fantastic start to the campaign, there does remain the question as to exactly what role Giroud will play going forward, as the World Cup winner has been forced to watch on from the sidelines while his team have won their last four matches in all competitions.
These Blues fans certainly want to see more of the ex-Gunners frontman:

He’s also a football player. Stop benching the guy you didn’t even put him on for the Grimsby game.
