Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to laugh about and enjoy the fact that their previous goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois conceded five goals for Real Madrid against Barcelona in Sunday’s El Clasico. Barcelona and particularly Luis Suarez were on fire as they ripped the Real Madrid defence apart, making it a forgettable afternoon for the Belgian keeper who took part in his first derby since moving to Spain.
Chelsea fans, however, reckon it’s a sense of karma that had come back to haunt Courtois after controversially forcing a move in August. The 26-year-old has had a difficult start to his Madrid career with Keylor Navas still at the club and current manager Julen Lopetegui struggling to find the best combinations that would suit his starting XI.
Currently ninth on the La Liga log, Lupetegui could soon be out of his job with former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte being lined up as a possible replacement. Should Conte become the new manager of Madrid then it could worsen Courtois’ circumstances after the two didn’t see eye to eye at the back end of their Chelsea careers.
Here are some of the reactions by Chelsea fans following El Clasico:

Thibaut Courtois has conceded 8 goals in his last 5 games for Madrid, Kepa has conceded that much in his last 13 games for Chelsea.
This is football, this is the definition of beauty

Watching Kepa get better & better and hearing about Courtois getting worse & worse just makes Chelsea’s current situation that little bit sweeter. Don’t worry Thibaut, Antonio will be with you soon!
