Chelsea: Fans go mental as Ruben Loftus-Cheek plays first game in almost nine months

Lots of Chelsea fans are delighted as Ruben Loftus-Cheek has step foot on a football pitch for the first time in nearly nine months after playing in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Cobham.
The Athletic report that the 24-year-old Chelsea academy graduate played just over an hour against Brentford B to test how Loftus-Cheek has come in his recovery from an Achilles injury, which the midfielder picked up last season in a charity match as reported by The Guardian.
After becoming a staple in the first-team last season under Maurizio Sarri, Loftus-Cheek’s impact in the Chelsea squad has been felt, but Blues supporters on social media were over the mood to hear that the England international had made his return to football. The former Crystal Palace loanee now looks set to return to senior action after the winter break.
